East Coast braces for yet another storm

(WTNH) -- While many residents from the mid-Atlantic region into New England are still cleaning up after Sandy, another coastal storm is projected to impact the area.

High Wind Watches are in effect for Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties as damaging winds are possible on Wednesday.

Forecasters are watching an area of low pressure that is forming along the Gulf Coast Monday evening.

As low pressure moves towards the Carolinas, the storm is expected to develop into a nor'easter and move up the coast by Wednesday into Thursday.

At this point the biggest impacts are forecast to be strong winds and coastal flooding. Water levels could rise three to six feet above normal on Connecticut's coast.

While damaging winds are possible near the shoreline, snow is possible across the higher terrain further inland.

Although the storm will be nowhere near as intense as Sandy, residents up and down the East Coast are urged to stay tuned.
