OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (WTNH) -- On Monday night during the storm, an elderly man was rescued from several feet of water in a home.
The home was in the area of Maple Avenue and Main Street, police said.
Firefighter Thomas Rochette and Lieutenant James Dion entered the home and found the elderly man sitting in a chair in chest deep water, police said.
The two carried him out of the house and drove him to an ambulance, to be transported for medical attention.
The firefighters then responded to the two homes on fire and removed several people that neglected to evacuate, police reported.
