Shelton, Conn. (WTNH) - The rain may have subsided, but there are still flood concerns, especially along the Housatonic and Connecticut rivers.

For the second time in a week, people in Shelton are watching the Housatonic River rise. Flood stage is 11 feet, and the water could rise to 15 feet, four feet above that flood level. Click here to see flood photos

Route 7 in New Milford was closed between Sunny Valley Rd. and Bridge St. because of flooding.

Rivers were expected to rise through the afternoon, Storm Team 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said. But good news -- the rain storm that was bringing a lot of the water was rapidly moving through the state.

"I think we're going to have some pretty decent weather for the afternoon," Simmons said.
