NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Phoenix Press, a business in New Haven, had their roof seriously damaged during the storm and is getting federal help.

The press was open today as workers temporarily patched the roof, but a lot of work still has to be done to bring the facility back to 100 percent.

Mayor John DeStefano, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, and others took a first-hand look at the damage, and spread the word about federal help for businesses and homeowners.

"Even if you have homeowners insurance, or business coverage continuation or flood insurance, we work with all the large, every insurance agency. We learned a lot from Katrina. They will work out with SBA what portion isn't covered and SBA will cover the uninsured portion," Bernard Sweeny, of the U.S. Small Business Administration, said.

So far, more than 400 people have already applied for help and there is a deadline.
