NEW CANAAN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Thousands of people may not have power at their homes, but there will be electricity when they go out to vote Tuesday.
The Secretary of the State says despite the challenges brought on by Sandy the state is ready for Tuesday's election.
Denise Merrill announced Monday afternoon that all of the state's polling places will be up and running, except for two locations which have been moved because of storm damage.
If you live in Bridgeport and normally vote at the Longfellow School, you are now voting at the AquaCulture School.
And if you live in New London and your polling place is usually at Ocean Beach, you have been moved to the Harbor School.
Turnout is expected to be strong with the presidential race and the close battle between Linda McMahon and Chris Murphy for the U.S. Senate seat.
Polls open Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m.
