Seymour. CT (WTNH)-- Weeks after the super storm hit, folks are still doing what they can to help Sandy's victims. Sunday in Seymour folks are enjoying several bands, while making a donation to help.

News 8's Stephanie Simoni went to  Bolands Cafe, where the event  began at  2 P.M. Sunday afternoon. Dozens showed up early, and organizers hoped the crowds would pick up after the NFL games.

Organizers said the money will go toward the American Red Cross for those impacted by Sandy here in Connecticut, New York and New jersey.

Many people at the cafe, including organizer Amy D'Amaro,  know someone who has taken a hit by the storm, which struck more than two weeks ago.

While there was no cover charge at the door, it was recommended that folks put $15 in the jar as their donation to those impacted by the storm. Organizers hoped to raise $1,000 by 10 P.M. Sunday night.
