Branford, Conn. (WTNH) - People are springing into action and hitting the outdoors with the warm weather, Saturday.
Goodbye winter and hello Spring! March 20th, at exactly 1:32 p.m., marked the first day of the new season.
"If it rained one more day, I swear I was going to open up a vein," said Beth Bryan of Branford. "This winter nearly killed me. I am happy to be outside."
Many, like Bryan, felt the same way which is why they enjoyed the beautiful weather at Branford Point Park.
"It just gets your blood flowing and gets you motivated; makes you want to go out and just say, 'Hey, here I am world,'" said one park-goer.
To help celebrate the Spring day, Rita's Italian Ice gave out some free goods just to sweeten everyone's day.
"This has been a beautiful day. People come out; it's free -- good stuff," said a Rita's Italian Ice worker.
