Westport, Conn. (WTNH) - Town officials in Westport say the March 13th storm that devastated Fairfield County caused about $1.1 million in damages.

First Selectman Gordon Joseloff calls it a "preliminary" estimate which includes $829,000 in municipal damages and expenses and $300,000 in residential damage that may not be reimbursed by insurance companies.

To qualify for federal aid, the state must show that over $2.85 million in damages occurred.
