BERLIN, Conn. (AP) - Sen. Richard Blumenthal says staffing at Connecticut Light & Power will be among the areas investigated by officials following numerous complaints about the pace of power being restored after last weekend's fierce snow storm.
At a news conference Friday, Blumenthal said he is "underwhelmed" by the Berlin based utility's response to the October snow storm. He said staffing is only one aspect of CL&P's performance that needs to be scrutinized.
Blumenthal also said the utility needed to be better prepared at the start of the storm last Saturday.
Janine Saunders, a CL&P spokeswoman, said the utility wants to restore power to all customers before focusing on future investigations.
Connecticut Light & Power reported that 312,000 customers were without power Friday. That's down from 830,000 customers without electricity at the peak of the outage.
