UPDATE - The ex-girlfriend of the man accused of killing Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson's family has testified.

Diana Grant told jurors Thursday that William Balfour slept at her apartment the night before Hudson's mother, brother and nephew were killed. Hudson and her sister, Julia Hudson, were in the Chicago courtroom for Grant's testimony. Balfour is Hudson's former brother-in-law. He has pleaded not guilty to the 2008 killings.

Earlier Thursday a former Chicago police forensic investigator testified about the clothing Balfour was wearing when he was arrested. Other police officers also testified about surveillance videos and cellphone records.

The presiding judge has said the trial could last up to a month. And prosecutors' case could last two or three more weeks.

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago police officers have taken the witness stand as the fourth day of testimony began at the Chicago trial of the man accused of killing Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson's family.

Former Chicago police forensic investigator Leonard Stocker testified Thursday morning about the clothing William Balfour was wearing when he was arrested. Balfour is Hudson's former brother-in-law. He has pleaded not guilty to murdering her mother, brother and nephew in 2008.

Other police officers also testified about surveillance videos and cellphone records. Hudson and her sister, Julia Hudson, testified Monday. The presiding judge has said the trial could last up to a month. And prosecutors' case could last two or three more weeks.
