BEND, Ore. (CNN/KTVZ) - Two men are trying to set a new Guinness World Record by flying in lawnchairs with balloons.

An Oregon gas station owner and an Iraqi adventurer took flight Saturday afternoon from Bend. They are riding in two lawnchairs strapped with 350 large helium balloons.

The pair planned to travel all the way to Montana. However about six hours into their flight Saturday, they had to stop because of weather.

The trip isn't anything new for Kent Couch. He's made several lawn chair voyages over the past few years.

"You can set a Kleenex on your lap it doesn't blow off, you can hear a dog bark at 15,000 feet, it just bounces off the Earth. It's a beautiful feeling, it just feels like you would imagine if you were floating through the sky on a little puff cloud, that's the experience we get, it's an addictive experience," said Couch.

Couch says he's doing the flight to raise awareness for Iraqi orphans.

The duo are planning another trip in Iraq this October.
