LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - President Barack Obama is attending the 112th Army-Navy game as he begins observing the end of the Iraq war and salutes service members.

The avid sports fan tossed the coin at the start of the game at the Washington Redskins' stadium in Maryland. Army won the toss and got the ball first.

Obama is watching from the Navy side but will switch to Army's after half. He said on the pregame broadcast that the players getting ready to take the field represented "some of the best our nation has to offer."

Obama is drawing attention to this month's full withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. He meets with the Iraqi prime minister on Monday at the White House and visit Fort Bragg in North Carolina to thank returning soldiers.
