ISHPEMING, Mich. (CNN/WLUC) - A Michigan teenager looked as sweet as a piece of candy on her prom night. Her dress was actually made from thousands of bright, multi-colored Starburst candy wrappers - 18,000 to be exact.
Diane McNease even made matching hair bands and a purse to go along with the outfit.
She says she came up with the idea for the dress when she saw a friend folding candy wrappers a year ago.
"Why don't I combine the two together, make the top out of Starbursts and then the bottom half, the ball gown kind of skirt. And I wanted to give the illusion that the dress was kind of falling apart, so I just strung the Starburst all around," she explained.
In case you're wondering how Diane got all those wrappers to make the dress in the first place, she didn't eat all those Starbursts. Her friends and family helped her collect the wrappers over the past year.
