| Mary Wade was founded in 1866 by a group of dynamic women after the Civil War to help widowed women and their children. Mary Wade Home is hosting a wine dinner to take place on Saturday May 12 at 6 pm at the Omni Hotel at Yale New Haven. The event will feature a live and silent auction, which includes dinner with Thomas Matthews, 4 tickets to sit in a luxury suite behind home plate at Yankee Stadium for an August game, as well as a variety of gift certificates and dining opportunities. |
| Mary Wade Home will be hosting An Adventure in Chile at the Omni Hotel New Haven at Yale on Saturday, April 30, 2011. The evening will begin with a reception at 6:00 pm followed by a four-course gourmet dinner complimented by fine wines from Lapostolle Vineyards. This year, News 8's Teresa LaBarbera will serve as the auctioneer. Two of the live auction items are a trip to Lapostolle Vineyards in Chile including a private tour and the other item is a private dinner for four at a New Haven local area restaurant with Thomas Matthews. A silent auction will also be held during the evening. Tickets for this event are $200 per person or $2,000 for a table of ten. |
