| Birmingham Group Health Services, Inc. provides free and confidential domestic violence services throughout the Lower Naugatuck Valley and the New Haven and shoreline areas. Its two domestic violence programs, The Umbrella and Domestic Violence Services, provide crisis counseling, court accompaniment, assistance in obtaining temporary restraining orders, safety planning, assistance with finding shelter, advocacy with the police, and many other crucial services. They operate a 24-hour crisis hotline to provide victims with immediate access to crisis intervention services and walk-in crisis services. |
