Medical Weight Loss Center was founded in 2006 by Andrew Rodican, PA-C. Since opening their doors in East Haven, they have helped over 8,000 patients achieve significant and sustainable weight loss goals through their medically based program.

Over 34% of Americans today are obese. Despite being one of the easiest medical problems to predict, target and prevent, obesity is one of the top causes of lost employee productivity and rising health care costs.

At Medical Weight Loss Centers, they offer safe, effective, medically supervised weight loss/management. Their programs are individually crafted for each patient based on the results of an initial patient work-up. Average patients lose 40 to 50 pounds in the first 12 weeks!

At Medical Weight Loss Centers, they are dedicated to helping you lose weight and maintaining a healthy weight for life.

For the majority of their patients, being overweight is a symptom of a chronic medical illness, which is often inherited and will never go away. Similar to diabetes; you can lose weight just as a diabetic can get their blood sugar under control, but then you must manage the illness day by day to help avoid regaining all the weight you have lost.

Our patient today is a nurse on a bariatric surgery floor. She opted to try medical weight loss (versus surgical) because she wants to be a power of example to her patients. She realizes that the surgical option, for some, is a life-saving choice. But for her, she knew that she had to change her thinking and lifestyle and not just her anatomy, if she were to lose and maintain the weight loss permanently. Medical Weight Loss Centers helped restore her hope, health and happiness (without the scars!).

Weight loss isn’t just about looking better. If you’re one of the nearly 130 million U.S. adults who are overweight or obese, you may be putting your health in jeopardy. Obesity is the second leading cause of preventable death (after smoking), and can raise your risks of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, gout, asthma, and even gum disease.

2. Have you received advanced training or education in the treatment of obesity? Is your training current?

3. What kind of initial patient workup do you perform?

4. What kind of diets do you promote? Have you received special training in monitoring patients on these diets?
