Connecticut has the 2nd highest incidence of breast cancer in the United States. In order to increase awareness of breast cancer, Standard Oil has created ThePinkTruck campaign. The bright pink truck promotes a social media campaign that encourages members of the community to inereact with ThePinkTruck initiative through Facebook.
In addition, Standard Oil has pledged $3 to the Connecticut affilaite of Susan G. Komen for every delivery ThePinkTruck makes for the next 12 months. Standard Oil is hoping to make somewhere between 6 and 7,000 deliveries with ThePinkTruck and make a donation of approximately $20,000.
ThePinkTruck campaign is particularly unique in that while most breast cancer campaigns end in October, but their efforts are just getting started. They will be actively promoting and raising funds for an entire year. Susan G. Komen for the Cure was named the non-profit with the biggest impact on cancer.
