• Ferry Crossing Opens
On June 22, HOPE Partnership will hold the grand opening of Ferry Crossing, a 16-unit affordable housing project in Old Saybrook. Ferry Crossing is in the state's first-ever Incentive Housing Zone under the HOMEConnecticut legislation passed in 2007.

The project consists of 16 townhouse rental units of varying sizes. All are income-restricted to people making 20, 50 or 80% of the local median income. Two units are set aside for families who formerly lived in motels, and two are set aside as supportive housing for formerly homeless veterans. Liberty Bank and the Liberty Bank Foundation have been involved with HOPE Partnership since its inception.

The Liberty Bank Foundation's mission is to support programs that enable people of low or moderate income who live within Liberty Bank's service area to achieve their personal goals and fulfill their potential. Over its 15-year history, the foundation has provided almost $7 million in grants to local nonprofits, scholarships to local students, and special programs.
