2 listed in stable condition after drive-by shooting in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Hartford police are searching for suspects after two men were shot on Bedford Street from, they believe, a passing car.

Wednesday night at 8:37 p.m., Hartford patrol officers say they heard shots ring out, and responded to Bedford Street. ShotSpotter was also activated, recording 10 shots.

They located two victims. One, behind 116 Bedford Street, had been shot in the ankle; the other, in front of 135 Bedford Street, had been shot in the leg at least once. Both victims said they believed the shots came from a gray car that had taken off south on Brook Street.

Both men were transported to St. Francis Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

Officers recovered three 9mm casings and six .40 caliber casings at the corner of Brook Street and Winter Street, all spent. Hartford Police Major Crimes Division worked with patrol officers to process the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
