PD: 100 underage drinkers found at Hamden bar

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) - About 100 people were allegedly found to be drinking underage during a liquor compliance check at a Hamden bar on Friday.

Police say officers and members of the State of Connecticut Liquor Commission responded to The Clubhouse on Whitney, at 3816 Whitney Avenue, for a liquor compliance check after receiving several complaints regarding underage drinking there.

Upon arrival, officers asked patrons for their identification, which resulted in approximately 100 people being there who are under 21 years of age. Police also seized 42 fake IDs during this time.

According to police, several underage patrons told officers that they were not asked for their IDs from the bar staff.

Numerous infractions were then issued and the State of Connecticut Liquor Commission is still investigating.

Also in Hamden, a liquor compliance check was held at Liquor Mart, at 3837 Whitney Avenue. Four people were issued infractions for possession of alcohol by a minor that was illegally purchased at Liquor Mart.

The State of Connecticut Liquor Commission is also investigating that incident.
