Sen. Blumenthal calls on Eversource to explain why shut-offs have doubled

Senator Richard Blumenthal is calling on Eversource to explain why electrical service terminations have nearly doubled in the last two years.
This comes after a news investigation uncovered the dramatic increase in shutoffs.

The number of disconnects jumped from 2015 to 2017.
Senator Chris Murphy is also concerned that Eversource may not be doing enough outreach, especially to low-income customers.
Eversource says it provides customers with a number of programs that can help.
