OLD LYME, Conn. (WTNH)-- Former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown's brother, Bruce Browne, was in court Thursday for allegedly impersonating a coast guard here in Connecticut.
Disguised in a baseball cap and sun glasses, Bruce Browne ran from cameras outside New London Superior Court.
There's iPhone video of Browne, the brother of former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown. Bruce Browne, who spells his name with an "E," is charged with resisting arrest, breach of peace, and impersonating a police officer.
The 46-year-old Wolcott resident admitted to police he was the man neighbors reported walking around Sea View Drive in Old Lyme, carrying a gun.
That was earlier this month.
Around the same time, Browne allegedly impersonated a coast guard police officer near the Point O' Woods area of Old Lyme. He stopped several boats on the water, demanding to see registration.
Upon his arrest, police seized dozens of items from Browne, including three loaded handguns, handcuffs and a bulletproof vest marked "police" in his car.
Before allegedly playing police officer, Browne considered a real career, a politician like his brother.
There is video of Browne during an interview with Chief Poltical Correspondent Mark Davis.
Thursday, Browne was on the other side of the law. Told by a judge he can no longer have guns, wear anything that may identify him as an officer, and is not allowed near the Point O' Woods area of Old Lyme.
Browne is expected back in court October 1st.
