HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man was found beaten and tied up in the basement of a home in Hartford, Police say.
Investigators remained on the scene for hours after the victim was discovered.
The story is still developing, but police say the victim was a man in his 50's.
So far, they're investigating the incident as a kidnapping and a robbery.
The man told police he was walking near Blue Hills and Power Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
He says three men in masks threatened him with firearms to get into a silver SUV and brought him to a house on Glendale Avenue. That's where he told police they beat him, pistol whipped him, and tied him up in a bathtub in the basement.
Nearly 24 hours later, police responded to a 911 call this morning. They heard the screams from the backyard and went in.
Some neighbors spoke to News 8 off-camera and said that they heard the screams and called police.
Another neighbor says she was surprised when she saw the police.
"I was like, what happened? Because we were just walking by there last night, a couple of hours ago," said Britney Williams, a neighbor, "and nothing seemed bad."
Williams did not hear screams, but she did see activity in the house.
"No [screams], but we did see people on the third floor," she explained.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and has since been treated and released.
There hasn't been an arrest made and police say there weren't any witnesses.
