MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH)-- A Middletown man was in court Tuesday, facing serious charges after police found guns and drugs in the apartment he shares with his fiancé and baby.
From drugs, to diamonds to weapons, police say they found it all and there's no telling what could've happened had they not. Middletown's mayor says this bust helped make the streets safer.
In court responding to a very long list of charges, was 24-year-old Vincent Sullivan.
Middletown police say they found a lot inside Sullivan's High Street home Friday, including a pound and a half of marijuana, $14,000 in cash, diamonds, and a collection of weapons. Also, an AR 15, a stolen gun, loaded guns, ammunition, a bullet proof vest and the list goes on.
"There's a lot of street level crime associated with this, such as stolen laptops from a local university, Wesleyan," said Chief William McKenna.
"I should also note there was a surveillance system to see who was coming to the door," said the prosecutor.
Outside of court, Sullivan's fiancé didn't say much.
When asked if she lives with him in the home and if he's a good dad, she had no response.
Sullivan's downstairs neighbors also didn't say much.
"We just recently moved here," he said.
When asked if he wanted to see what Sullivan's charged with, the neighbor didn't want to know.
Bond was originally set at $1 million. Tuesday, the judge reduced it to $350,000.
Sullivan has no prior convictions, but two cases pending, including intent to sell. He's back in court Sept 17th.
