Orange (WTNH) - A man and his son are among nine people arrested in a drug bust.Inside several homes in Orange and Woodbridge police found cash,drugs and guns.
It is a story that reminds us criminal suspects are found in thesuburbs as well as the inner-city.
"The investigation was initiated into narcotics traffickingwithin the Amity region," said Lt. J. Paul Vance, Connecticut StatePolice.
Undercover narcotics officers made contact with the suspecteddrug dealers months ago and began buying illegal drugs, includingmarijuana, cocaine and ecstasy.
"Narcotics detectives were able to infiltrate these individuals,and make over 25 purchases of narcotics and controlled substancefrom these suspects," Vance said.
Police say the impact of these arrests will have abroad-reaching affect in the surrounding communities.
"But this is a positive impact on the communities of Orange andWoodbridge and the Greater Amity area. Hopefully, this will reducethe flow of illegal narcotics into this area and region," Vancesaid.
Arrested on various drug charges were:
- Richard and Nicole Spear of Rimmon Road, Woodbridge
- David Baviello of Wilson Road, Orange
- Jeremy Proto of Pleasant Hill Road, Orange
- Vincent Cerillo of Chippendale Lane, Orange
- Anthony Mantiglia of High Meadow Lane, Orange
- Joseph Laluna Sr. and Joseph Laluna Jr. of Glenwood Road,Orange
- Vito Sabato of Oakwood Road, Orange
