CLINTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- While assisting Hartford police with a hit and run investigation, Cromwell police arrested three people who were selling drugs out of their home.
On Wednesday, Clinton officers were called to 59 Old Post Road to help Hartford officers with a hit and run investigation that occurred earlier in the day.
Steven Bell, 27, answered the door and police say they immediately smelled marijuana coming from inside. Officers say they saw drug paraphernalia and a marijuana plant in plain sight in the living room.
The officers searched the home and found pre-packaged marijuana and other drug paraphernalia, leading them to believe the residents were involved in a drug selling operation.
Bell and his roommates, 24-year-old Jan Michel Gere and 23-year-old Kathleen Smith were all arrested.
They were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a drug factory.
Bell was faces an additional charge of cultivation of marijuana.
Smith was also charged with possession of narcotics after police found several bags of heroin in her possession.
Bell was able to post bond and is scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on July 31.
Gere and Smith were held on $2,500 bonds and will be arraigned on Thursday.
