MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH)-- The thunderstorms on Saturday will be giving us a break from the extreme heat and humidity.
"It's 91, my car said as I drove down, so I have been spending a lot of time in my pool. Pool and then inside. Yes, I'm praying for rain," said Betsy Stimpson.
The cool down is on the way. A relief for many.
"Just staying inside most of the time or in the pool," said Ann Rausch.
"It is grand, it is grand, it's like it rain today. We need all types of weather and stuff like that obviously the cool rain cools down the summer The wind breeze tonight is great," said Amhed Kakay.
Some say they would take the heat over cooler and rainy weather any day.
"I'm kind of upset because it feels like, I like this time of year. February 8 talk to me then and see what happens. No, I like this weather," said David Raush.
"I don't mind the heat," said a woman.
Chis-pea, the Chihuahua, can't handle the hot pavement in downtown Middletown, so she's keeping cool in a stroller. Even pups and people are ready for the dog days of summer to end.
"I keep it cool because she is very hot. I'm hot too. It's the age," said her owner.
"I've had enough. It's been a tough week," said Bob Canny.
