New Haven (WTNH) - New Haven Police Officer Jason Bandy was arrested, Tuesday, andcharged with second-degree breach of peace, interfering with anofficer and disorderly conduct stemming from an incident thatoccurred on October 30 at Center Street Lounge in the City.
Owner of Center Street Lounge, Jason Cutler, revealed whathappened that night.
"My female bouncer was walking down and looked in and saw agentleman right here," said Cutler. "He was urinating on the floor.The sinks are here and the sinks are there and he is just urinatingon the floor."
When Cutler found out the man urinating on the floor was apolice officer he said he was shocked.
"We have an on duty police officer, who is great. He immediatelycame over and they in turn went at it," said Cutler. "Meanwhile thewhole struggle is going on over a pile of urine."
Cutler said they had to escort the police officer out because herefused to leave.
"He walks out here and we go a few steps and he looks and spitsat my bar," said Cutler. "He keeps on walking and right about herethere is a big pole of dirt that the cleaner started to sweep andhe takes his foot and he kicks it and the pile of dirt goeseverywhere. At that point, he finally is escorted out."
What's more is that although the officer was supposed to beon-duty that night but instead called out sick to "party."
"I was completely shocked; I have the utmost respect for the NewHaven Police Department," said Cutler. "I don't hold this againstthem. I work with them every night. I am open, they are greatpeople; they have helped me out when I needed them to."
Meanwhile, Police Chief James Lewis released a statement thatsaid, "The New Haven Police Department takes any incident involvingpossible misconduct by an officer very seriously as we expectofficers to serve as role models to the community."
New Haven Police's Internal Affairs division is alsoinvestigating this incident. Bandy is currently on administrativeduty pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
