Mystic, Conn. (WTNH) -- Whether it's answering a question about the iceberg the Titanic hit or another display, like an iceberg that is actually cold to the touch, an exhibit at the Mystic Aquarium is said to be a teaching tool about the Titanic.
The exhibit honors the 100th anniversary of the RMS Titanic's doomed maiden voyage. Visitors to aquarium explore what Dr. Robert Ballard discovered in 1985, as well as what those staying on board experienced.
"It's like reliving the Titanic back in 1912," said fifth-grader Nicolas Gudeahn, of New Britain.
Gudeahn was among the first visitors to venture 12,450 feet below the icy North Atlantic's surface.
"What we're trying to do with this exhibit is to get people to understand that the deep sea is the largest museum on earth," said Dr. Ballard. "There's more history in the deep sea then in all the museums of the world combined."
A deep discovery Dr. Ballard is also hoping to protect.
"I think that they really did a good job making them and creating them," said Nicolas.
You can be sure that Nicolas has his favorite.
"I like the iceberg the best," said Nicolas. "...like it's realistic, like it's really cold."
The aquarium is also looking to explore a new entertainment attraction showing drive-in movies this summer in one of the parking lots. It still needs the town's permission for that though.
In the meantime, the aquarium has gotten the okay to show the movie Titanic on an inflatable screen next month.
