WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in West Haven Monday night.
The accident happened just before 7 p.m., on Captain Thomas Blvd., near the intersection with Dyke St.
Since July, two other people have been killed in crashes at the same intersection.
Witnesses say two motorcycles struck a truck and hit it so hard the truck they actually knocked it up on two wheels.
"I would estimate 70 miles an hour maybe. They were wide open and flying when they hit the truck," said a former EMT who witnessed the accident.
Both motorcycles were wedged under the pick truck.
The second victim who was launched over the truck, survived the crash.
Witnesses say he flew over the truck landing face down in the road.
The former E.M.T saw the accident, had gloves in her truck and ran to help.
"He was face down, he was conscious, he would say his name," the woman said. "He would try to get up and we were trying to make him stay down. I was trying to hold his spine just in case he had a fractured neck or something after an accident like that."
Just in front of the body were fresh flowers for 21-year-old Michael Finch, who was killed in a July accident, along with another man.
There have been three separate accidents at the intersection in just seven weeks.
"A bike doesn't have a chance. People pull out, they hit the side of it. That's it," said Debbie Demayo, of West Haven. "Their life is over. You know what I mean, they don't have a chance. We have high school here, high school kids coming in and out of here. Can you imagine what can happen? I think things need to change, this is the third accident in like a month and a half with motorcycles. Tonight it's two young boys."
"And there's still a memorial from the last accident," said News 8's Bob Wilson.
"Absolutely, and the young boy who lost his life tonight, his son's birthday is this coming Saturday, a year old, and he also has one that is going to be three," Demayo said.
