GREENWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 57-year-old man was killed while attempting to change a flat tire on a tractor trailer truck in Greenwich Friday.
The fatal crash on I-95 closed part of the highway for several hours Friday morning.
All lanes are now back open.
The crash happened at 2:40 a.m. between Exits 2 and 3. Aerial pictures from WABC show a severely damaged pick-up truck behind a tractor trailer along the side of the road.
Police said at the time of the accident, a disabled tractor trailer was on the right shoulder with a flat tire on the trailer. And a second vehicle, a tire service truck, was parked directly behind the disabled vehicle.
Police said 25-year-old Landy Narcisse-para, the tractor trailer driver, was standing at the driver's side front corner of the vehicle, while 57-year-old Henry Wagmeister was changing a flat tire at the rear of the vehicle.
According to police, a second tractor trailer then traveled into the right shoulder and struck the rear of the service truck, pushing it into Wagmeister.
That vehicle then veered across all three travel lanes and struck the median Jersey barrier.
Wagmeister was pronounced dead at the scene.
Narcisse-para was struck with debris from the collision and was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
All three vehicles were towed from the scene.
The driver of the second tractor trailer has been identified as 48-year-old Garfield Simmonds, of 8001 Nw 47th St., Lauderhill, FL.
No charges have been filed yet.
