(WTNH) -- Beginning Sunday, Metro-North monthly pass holders can apply for a credit for the rides they missed during the power outage that disrupted service on the New Haven Line.
According to a website post from the MTA:
- September monthly tickets will receive a 25% credit for the period of September 25 to 30 towards the purchase price of a future ticket.
- October monthly tickets will receive a 25% credit for the period of October 1 to October 6 towards the purchase price of a future ticket.
You will have to surrender you old tickets to get the credit. You can use them separately or together to help pay for your next monthly pass.
"For New Haven Line customers who submit both tickets for credit towards the purchase of a November monthly, Metro-North will honor New Haven Line November monthly tickets for travel beginning October 20," the MTA said on its website.
Redemptions can begin Sunday, but on Monday there will be additional ticket windows open at Union Station in New Haven and Grand Central Terminal, and at stations inbetween including Bridgeport, South Norwalk, Stamford, Greenwich, New Rochelle, Fordham, and Harlem-125th Street. The additional windows will be open begnning at 6:00 a.m. at all stations except South Norwalk and Fordham, which will open at 2:00 p.m.
Customers will have until March 31, 2014, to claim their credits.
Weekly ticket holders are already able to claim their credits.
