AAA to reschedule TSA PreCheck enrollment after mechanical issues

BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) - TSA PreCheck enrollment at AAA will be rescheduled after it was canceled Tuesday due to mechanical issues.

If you hate standing in those long security lines at the airport, there will be a new option for get flyers to get through those lines a little faster.

AAA is getting in the sky travel game. They usually take care of your road troubles but now they're tracking your sky struggles.

In Hamden and in Branford, you will be able enroll in TSA PreCheck. So what is PreCheck...

It's a program where low-risk travelers can move quickly through airport screenings because then you don't have to take off your shoes, belts and jackets, laptops and remove those liquids from your bags.

Keep in mind, it's only for domestic travelers. AAA members and non-members as a community service.

While the enrollment was previously scheduled for this week, it has been canceled due to mechanical issues. AAA will reschedule but it's unclear when.

When they do, you need to register ahead of time. Bring a government photo ID, and there is a fingerprinting process.

It's also $85 for 5 years.
