
Jodi Latina returns home to News 8 a little more than ten years after her previous stop reporting for WTNH. She is part of our Political Team covering the State Capitol in Hartford. As News 8’s Chief Political Correspondent, Jodi will cover stories coming out of the state legislature and major elections like the State’s General Assembly races and Presidential elections.
Prior to her return to television, Jodi served as U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon’s Press Secretary and as Chief of Staff to New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart. She also was elected in her own right, serving her town on the Board of Education and as a Town Councilor. Jodi got her start in broadcasting at WFSB, interning with MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski at the New Haven Bureau and then moving on to Production Assistant on “the night beat” with Denise D’Ascenzo and Al Terzi in Hartford. Jodi also worked in Bangor, Maine at WVII the ABC affiliate and at News 12 Connecticut in Norwalk. Jodi worked on “Good Morning Connecticut” at WTNH from 1999-2009.
Jodi holds a Communications degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and graduated from Newington High School. She is married to Anthony Latina the Divison I Men’s Basketball Coach at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. They have two children and live just outside the Capitol City.
