Kathryn Hauser

Kathryn Hauser is an Emmy Award winning Anchor/Reporter with a passion for storytelling. As a trusted broadcast journalist, Kathryn has spent more than a decade covering news in New York, Boston and Connecticut. She joined News 8 in spring 2022, delivering impactful stories happening across the state.
Kathryn’s career has been shaped by major breaking news stories including the “Miracle on the Hudson” landing by Captain Sully, the tragedy at Sandy Hook and the Boston Marathon bombing trial. She previously worked at WBZ-TV in Boston as a weekday morning anchor, News 12 Connecticut as an anchor/reporter and FOX23 News in Albany, NY as a reporter.

At News 8, Kathryn followed American Red Cross Connecticut volunteers to Fort Myers Beach, Florida to cover the devastation of Hurricane Ian and help raise money for victim’s relief. She captured the efforts of those volunteers at shelters and in the disaster zone. She shared the stories of Connecticut volunteers bringing hot meals and necessities to those in need. Kathryn always looks for the helpers while out on a story, “That’s where you’ll find the best of humanity.”

Kathryn is proud to call Connecticut home with her husband, two children and pup “Tucker” in Fairfield County. When she is not at work, Kathryn is spending quality time with family (enjoying life on the water when the weather allows). She loves boating, paddleboarding, wakeboarding, swimming and tubing!
