On the west coast, she covered many California wildfires including the Lilac fire of 2017, covered breaking news along the Tijuana border and won an Emmy nomination for her breaking news report on a neighborhood plane crash.
Mackenzie was on the west coast for about five years. Prior to her time in San Diego, she spent a few years in Washington state.
There, she spent time reporting during the week and on weekend nights could be found behind the anchor desk. Her time in Tri-Cities deepened her love for wine as she was planted in the middle of the Columbia Valley wine country.

During her four years of school, she interned for the ABC affiliate in Springfield, Massachusetts where she spent time as a field producer for the morning show.
An Emmy nominated journalist also recognized by the San Diego Press Club, she looks forward to working hard to tell stories for the community.
When Mackenzie isn’t at work shooting her own stories, writing and editing them, she’s spending time with her family, enjoying a workout class or cheering on her favorite Boston sports teams.
