What is your favorite restaurant in New Haven?

There are so many to choose from….I really enjoy Basta. The food is superb and it’s quaint. Tre Scalini and Consiglio’s are my other favorites. Clarie’s vegetarian restaurant is one of my favorite lunch spots.

What’s the best dish you can make?

I’m vegan… so I am pretty creative when it comes to my recipes. I like anything with a Spanish flair. I love using spices in my dishes. I also make raw desserts from cookies and brownies.

Who is your favorite musician/ band and/or best concert you ever been to?

I love concerts. I saw Motley Crue’s last tour concert in Jersey, it rocked! Andrea Bocelli gives an excellent concert on Valentine’s Day. Lionel Richie at Mohegan Sun… he still has it!

 What made you start juicing?

At my house you’ll find fresh pressed juices, sprouts sprouting and grapefruits rolling all over the tabletops. Check out the www.therawreporter.com, I blog about living a healthy lifestyle. I’m serious about health!
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

Anywhere tropical! I’m currently checking off my bucket list. Capri, Italy is one of my favorite spots. Italy is such a romantic place and the food is out of this world! I also like Santorini Greece, Bali and anywhere in Thailand. I love to travel to places off the beaten path and where I can get to know the locals. I enjoy spending summers exploring the north east and soaking up the sun down south in the keys.

What’s something you don’t know about me?

I’ve fostered and rescued dozens of dogs. Right now I have two rescues. Archie, a Westie and Tuna, a Chichuaha I rescued in San Antonio. I saw her little nose pushing through a cage and she was looking up at me with big sad eyes. The rest  is history! Now she’s a spoiled SASM, San Antonio Special Mix!

What are your hobbies / hidden talents

I’m a great tour guide. In school I took several languages. It’s a secret weapon when traveling. When it’s warm out you can find me cycling! In 2014, I cycled 100 miles in the 4th annual Closer to Free Bike Ride. In 2015 and 2016, I rode over 100 miles. The ride supports patient care and research at Smilow Cancer hospital and Yale Cancer Center.
