
A native of East Haven, Rich is a founding member of Men Make a Difference, Men against Domestic Violence. Works actively with the Ryan Gordon Circe of Giving, the Jim Calhoun Celebrity Classic, and In a Heartbeat, a non-profit foundation that supplies automatic external defibrillators to school, organizations and businesses.
Rich comes to WTNH after 30 years at Fox-61 in Hartford. His duties included solo anchoring a 2-hour Newscast on Sunday mornings. In the field, he covered some of the state’s top news stories, including Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
Rich graduated from East Haven High School in 1976, and the University of New Haven in 1980. He received numerous Emmy Nominations, is a 9-time winner of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, and National Sports Media Association Connecticut Sportscaster of the year. In both 1991 and 1997, he captured Associated Press awards.
In 2000, Rich was inducted into the East Haven Alumni Association Hall of Fame.
In 2016, he received Media induction into the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Rich and his wife Sue have a daughter Gianna.
