Fitness meets fun for some Irish step dancers!
Christina Ashurst said the most important thing dancers learn when they first start is posture. They are taught how to stand tall, shoulders pinched, with their arms glued in.
Piper talked about her joy in learning Irish step dancing.
“The best thing is the work ethics that you get from it and being able to spend time with all your friends,” she said.
Cian and Piper have won many awards. They are competing in the World Championship this year.
The youngest dancer at the Ashurst Academy of Irish Dance is 4 years old. The academy was recently voted “Best Dance Studio for Kids in Connecticut” by MommyPoppins Connecticut.
