New Opioid prevention and education program launches in New Britain


Officials claim that a new program aimed at helping those struggling through the opioid epidemic will be discussed in a press conference Monday morning in the New Britain Police Department

The press conference on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in New Britain.

Action is being taken to tackle the opioid epidemic in Connecticut. They are launching an opioid prevention and education initiative program called Hope.

Through the initiative, officers can choose to get a person into treatment instead of charging them with drug possession. 

Patients will be offered a recovery coach and other services.

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is teaming up with several towns and agencies to launch the initiative.
