State police rescue injured owl along Wilbur Cross Parkway

WOODBRIDGE, Conn. (WTNH) — Motorists in Connecticut can always rely on a State Trooper to help them if they are in need on the highway. Animals are also fortunate to receive the same type of assistance.

On Tuesday, a trooper from Bethany-based Troop I helped rescue an injured owl spotted on the northbound side of the Wilbur Cross Parkway near exit 58.

Police say the injured male barred owl was originally taken to Woodbridge Animal Control before being sent to A Place Called Hope rehab center in Killingworth.

There is no word on the current condition of the owl, but he was standing and alert as he was transported to the Killingworth rehab facility.
