3 Simple Ways to Beat Summer Doldrums

CT Style

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Everyone has heard of the winter blues, but not everyone is aware how easy it is to catch summer doldrums. Relationship expert Dr. Patty Ann Tublin shares her tips on beating the heat this summer.

  1. Go Outside: Lots of people stay indoors to avoid the heat. They also find more free time at home which sometimes is spent in front of the TV. Enjoy the summer while it’s here.
  2. Avoid Facebook Envy: “They think everybody else’s life is so fabulous,” said Dr. Patty Ann. It can be very easy to feel envious of other people’s photos regardless if those photos are genuine or not.
  3. Schedule Activities: Like anything in life, if you make a plan you’re more likely to stick to it. “Lack of finances is not an excuse. We have beautiful free parks, trails, beaches,” said Dr. Patty Ann.
