Color can make all the difference when putting together the perfect room.
“You have to introduce color into every room,” said Ethan Allen Design Consultant Marty Holick. “It creates and emotion. It creates the design.”
Whether you use warm or cool tones, Holick says color evokes feelings when you step into a room.
“Color is very important for us to feel good in a room,” Holick explained. “We live in color.”
As a designer, Holick tends to use three colors.
“I look at the foreground,” he explained. “I look at the background and I look at the accent colors and from there you kind of mesh them all together.”
Holick says more people today are turning towards ‘happy’ colors.
“They’re looking for bright yellows, warm gold tones, turquoises,” he explained. “Colors that were [popular] back in the 50s 60s and 70s are making their way back around again.”
