A Michigan man found more than loose change when he searched his secondhand couch’s cushions.

Howard Kirby had purchased a sofa and ottoman from a Habitat for Humanity ReStore location for $70, but noticed one of the sofa cushions was uncomfortable.

After three weeks he and his daughter-in-law investigated and found a box inside the cushion with $43,170.

Kirby contacted the thrift store which alerted the couch’s previous owners, who collected the cash that had been stashed by their late grandfather.

‘Bad Boys For Life’ took the top spot at the box office this weekend.

Critics and fans are loving the third film in the series starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence bringing in an estimated $68.1 million. The Bad Boys franchise has earned more than $400 million.

In second place ‘Dolittle’ starring Robert Downey Jr. as a doctor who can talk to the animals. The film got poor reviews from critics but managed to pull in $30 million at the box office.

Rounding out the top three, ‘1917,’ which has 10 Oscar nominations earned another $27 million over the weekend, bringing its box office total to $140 million.
