Billionaire Investor Robert F. Smith promises to pay off the student loans for this year’s graduating class at Morehouse College.

Smith is paying off all of the student debt for the 396 graduates of the historically black college, estimated to be tens of millions of dollars.

Smith gave the commencement speech. Here’s a few words from his speech:

“On behalf of the eight generations of my family who have been in this country, we’re going to put a little fuel in your bus. My family is going to create a grant to eliminate your student loans!”

“We will all be measured by how much we contribute to the success of the people around us.”

“Our world is getting smaller by the day. And you are equipped with every tool to make it your own.”

Smith is the founder of the investment firm Vista Equity Partners. According to Forbes, he is worth about $5 billion. He moves past Oprah Winfrey to become the wealthiest African American in the country.

The most watched and awarded HBO show of all-time has come to a close. It’s estimated that HBO spent $15 million to produce each episode in the final season of ‘Game of Thrones.’

There is already a spin-off of the show confirmed, and potentially two others.

One of the main characters John Snow was seen at R.J. Julia Booksellers in Madison.
