At the Movies – “Avengers: Endgame”

Entertainment

Seriously. Who’d have thought I’d get so much mileage out of this tie? But this weekend the Avengers are back and that means Spidey too. Or does it?

Avengers: Endgame” hits theaters almost a year to the day “Avengers Infinity War” did, which left us all hanging after bad guy Thanos snapped his finger and half the population disappeared.

Somebody just put on a catchy tune, he’ll snap his fingers again and that’s that! Nah, that’d be too easy and with “end game” clocking in at three hours and one minute you know there’s going to be more to it than that. A lot more.

Analysts predict this will be the largest opening of a movie in history, with estimates at $300 mil in the U.S. alone.

Here’s what we do know for sure: there’s a rag tag crew left, but the right one. Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, and Black Widow to name a few, plus newbie Captain Marvel, who’s still raking in dough at cineplexes.

But if they couldn’t beat Thanos with three times as many superheroes last time, how can they with a third that many now? Three words: Howard the Duck. No, we’ll all find out this weekend.

Plus, Marvel announced this week that this film is technically not the final one of their much-hyped phase four – this summer’s “Spider-Man Far From Home” will be. The tie will be back in July!

“Avengers: Endgame” is rated PG-13.
