‘Avengers: Endgame’ ticket sales break records, crash sites

Ticket sales for “Avengers: Endgame” began Tuesday morning and while first day sales have been marvelous for Disney’s Marvel Studios, some websites couldn’t handle the demand.

In just six hours, the movie broke box office records by becoming the largest first 24-hour pre-sale ever. But many customers found themselves Ragna-blocked from purchasing tickets.

Customers who went to ticketing website Fandango were met with extremely long lines and wait times. Even though ticketing queues were congested, the website remained functional, just slow.

AMC’s website and its app, however, appeared to crash.

The theater chain tweeted:

Around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, AMC’s website was back up and selling tickets.

“Avengers: Endgame” will conclude the storyline presented in 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” which broke box office records with a $640 million opening weekend haul and an overall gross of $2 billion globally.

“Avengers: Endgame” opens April 26.
