Maritime Aquarium’s IMAX theater plays last movie, to be replaced with new 4D theater

(WTNH) — It’s the end of the ocean for the IMAX theater at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.

The theater was the first IMAX theater in Connecticut when it opened in 1988. It will be demolished later this year to make way for a federal railroad bridge replacement project.

A new 4D theater will open at the aquarium soon. The theater showed its last movie Monday.
