Let’s get our dinosaur on. ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘ takes a bite out of the box office this weekend.
Since Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas – daughter of Ron – Howard revived the franchise much has happened.
An island off Costa Rica is now overrun with dinosaurs and Howard’s character wants to get them off said island safely. The dinosaurs I mean. Yeah, her character, Claire, actually asks of a Congresswoman, “would you really want your children to grow up in a world without dinosaurs?”
Um, didn’t you, Claire?
Still, she brings in Pratt’s Owen Brady to save the day again. Here in New England we love it when a guy named Brady saves the day, though. the real kicker is Claire wants the prehistoric beasts safely evacuated from the island because a volcano is about to blow – not to stop the, ya know, tireless munching on tourists.
References to the very first ‘Jurassic Park’ flick abound, and there’s a cliffhanger ending as epic as the scene teased in the trailer, where a mosasaurus feasts on beachgoers. and yes this water dinosaur did actually exist at one point in time.
Why do movies where people in the ocean get eaten always come out right when you’re blowing the dist off the boogie board? For real.
‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ is PG-13.
