Fairfield Prep plays in frigid cold against West Haven

The annual West Haven High School versus Fairfield Prep Thanksgiving Day game went on as schedule, despite cold weather leading many schools to reschedule games.

Much to the chagrin of these hardened New England football fans.

“This is perfect weather for football. This is what its supposed to be like.”

Forecasts predicted this could be one of the coldest Thanksgivings on record. These Fairfield Prep fans didn’t care. With the visitors comfortably leading in this game, fans took the opportunity to knock their in-town rivals that moved the game to another day.

“Only the Fairfield Public Schools do they cancel games because of weather.”

So while most the people we talked to here at the game said hey, its just football weather..we did find one person who seemed like she would rather have been inside.

“It’s freezing cold weather. It’s awful”, said Jody Hannah of Fairfield.

In the end, playing the game was worth it for Fairfield Prep. They won 63-12.
